Before Belgaum MSW Limited was established, the site served as a 66-acre dumping ground, where all the city’s garbage was accumulated into massive piles. This site had long been synonymous with unmanaged waste, posing significant environmental and public health risks. However, since the inception of Belgaum MSW Limited, our dedicated team has worked tirelessly to transform this area into a state-of-the-art waste management facility. We’re pleased to report that our efforts are progressing as scheduled, with significant improvements in both the site’s infrastructure and overall cleanliness.

Currently, only a fraction of the waste brought to the Belgaum site is disposed of in a landfill. This landfill complies with the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Rules 2000, featuring multiple liners, compacted soil layers, and leachate monitoring wells. These elements are critical in ensuring that any potential contamination is contained and does not affect the surrounding environment. By adhering to these stringent regulations, we aim to maintain the safety and sustainability of the area while minimizing our ecological footprint.
